Welcome to
the 2005 Highway Oregon 58 Conditions Report!
This report is a compendium of
time-sensitive information about the highway that will be updated
periodically. The electronic report is provided as a self contained website
but you can also request a stand-alone DVD disc version that will run
directly on your local computer or from a LAN. Use the “Feedback” link on the
home page to send an email to Region 2 headquarters to request a DVD copy of
the conditions report. Also, please use the “Feedback” link to send comments
or alert us to errors or bugs such as any dead links which may exist so we
can continue to improve this product.
The report website requires the use of
the following free ‘plug-in’ software applications:
-
Adobe Reader – All of the maps are
provided in PDF format and can be viewed in your web browser with the free
Adobe Reader. Click here to go to the
Adobe website and download the software.
-
ArcReader – is similar
to Adobe Reader for the purpose of viewing published maps. Most of the maps available
in PDF format can also be accessed using our custom ArcReader application developed to allow more data access and customization. Use the ArcReader link to download from the ESRI web site or click here to install the ESRI ArcReader software from the Intranet location.
-
Custom ArcReader –
A custom version of the ESRI ArcReader application was developed to work specifically with the map series templates used in the condition report. This is a small application that works directly with the core ArcReader software.
-
DivX
– Images from the video logs have been converted to into video files (AVI format) using the DivX compression (codec). You can use any browser supported media player to play the video files however, your media player will need internal access to the DivX codec to display the videos. Use the DivX link to download from the DivX web site or click here to install the DivX codec from the Intranet.
Installing the programs listed above requires administrative privileges on your computer.
You must contact your designated FSU technician to install the required components that are
accessed from the report home page using the “Install” link.
Each component described above is mutually exclusive so, if you have Adobe Reader
currently installed you can proceed with using the website to access maps and text;
just realize that the video and Arcreader features will not work properly
even though the links are accessible.
All of the report content can be accessed directly using the “Segment Index” link
on the main report page or from the page header link. Please refer to the “Users Guide”
for specific details and examples of use and functionality.
This window opened automatically if this is your first visit to the condition report site. If necessary, the page can be reopened at anytime using the "Install" link on the report home page.
